Biography

William Reeves is a first generation Cuban AAPI, originally from New York. He graduated from Duquesne University with a BA in Political Science and Spanish. He interned with the Westchester County Department of Corrections litigation unit where he documented inmate grievances. William also interned with Westchester County legislator Margaret Cunzio where he was a legislative aide, working on
projects such as the banning of styrofoam containers for usage by restaurants and advocating for animal rights. This awakened his interest in local government. Later working with an Allentown nonprofit that provides after school programming to youth, he saw firsthand how disinvestment in BIPOC youth prevents youth from reaching their full potential. William became involved with Casa San Jose as an intern and was hired as a community organizer. William loves to exercise, spend time outdoors and travel.
